Status: target. There is no renovate.json in the repo and the Renovate app is not installed. Versions today are bumped by hand in pnpm-workspace.yaml catalogs. The policy itself is in Dependencies.

What the config decides

No token, hostRules entry or registry credential belongs in the config. Private registry access is configured in the Renovate app settings of the organisation.

Setup (target)

1

Install the Renovate app on the repository

A repository admin does this once.
2

Add renovate.json at the repository root

Renovate reads only the root config. Extend the shared preset and add only what is specific here: the pnpm-workspace.yaml catalogs, mise.toml and the packageManager field.
3

Validate the config

pnpm dlx --package renovate@<pinned version> renovate-config-validator --strict renovate.json. Pin the version in a catalog.
4

Require the verify check on its pull requests

Renovate pull requests run CI like any other. pnpm validate rejects a literal version in a member, so a bad update to a member fails loudly.

Reviewing a Renovate pull request

  1. Read the changelog link in the body, not only the version number.
  2. Check the licence did not change against the allow-list in Dependencies.
  3. For toolchain bumps (Node, pnpm, Expo SDK, TypeScript) follow Upgrade instead of merging blind.
  4. Merge only on a green verify. A security pull request is merged first, then investigated if it fails; the advisory is the cost of waiting.
