Superseded by 0100: one free
@stackra/ai covers agents,
tools, skills, MCP and A2A; decisions 1 to 4 carry forward there.Context
0021 decides the engine (AI SDK core plus the MCP SDK, providers selected by configuration) and the write-safety rules, but not where that code lives or which provider is the default. The owner wants it built now as a framework package, with Amazon Bedrock as the default provider.Decision
@stackra/aiis the package that wraps AI SDK core for products and services. It adds no gateway and no second runtime, as 0021 decision 1 requires.- Provider-agnostic. The provider and model are configuration; no product code imports a provider SDK directly.
- Amazon Bedrock is the default provider. Credentials come from the runtime identity or the secret store; no key value is written in a file (0009).
- The package implements the safety rules of 0021 that belong to the engine: the per-tenant switch, rate and monthly limits, the usage row, and redaction before a call. The product-specific caller stays in the product.
- No new decision on write tools. The closed, approval-gated tool list in 0021 is unchanged.
Consequences
- Products get the safe path by default and switch providers by configuration.
- Bedrock model availability and pricing become a dependency; the fallback provider is TODO.
Enforcement
Planned — an oxlint import ban on provider SDKs outside@stackra/ai, and tests for the 0021 redaction and limit rules. Nothing is implemented yet.
