Supersedes 0072. The blocking security review and gitleaks carry forward.

Context

0072 (Proposed) set SOC 2 groundwork without a timeline, a tool or a disclosure route. The owner’s answers SC1 to SC4, SC11 and the compliance tooling (mem L550, L552, L554, 2026-10-20) fix them.

Decision

  1. Frameworks (SC1). SOC 2 Security and Availability. Type I at the first enterprise deal. Type II six months later.
  2. Reviews (SC2). Access is reviewed quarterly.
  3. Testing (SC3). A penetration test before general availability, and yearly after it. A nightly ZAP scan. A bug bounty after general availability.
  4. Tooling (compliance). Comp AI, self-hosted or free until the managed package is needed at the first enterprise report, covering SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR and the UAE and KSA PDPL.
  5. Disclosure (SC11). SECURITY.md in the repository, private reporting, a security@ address, and a three-business-day acknowledgement.
  6. Carried forward. The blocking security review and gitleaks.

Consequences

  • A customer asking for SOC 2 gets a dated plan, not a promise.
  • The controls map is the single source for every framework, so each control is written once.

Enforcement

planned — the controls map page (new) is kept current with the programme; the quarterly review is a Linear recurring issue.

Alternatives

  • SOC 2 plus ISO 27001 plus self-hosted Comp AI now: rejected by the gap analysis (E-10); the owner chose the staged plan.
